Learn Yourself
No one ever starts any new habit without first committing to it. The hardest part of starting is determining your starting point. Everyone is different. One person’s starting point may be as simple as walking 10 minutes everyday versus another’s starting point of 100 push-ups 3 days a week. It can vary, but there are 4 things you need to think about:
- Take a moment to honestly evaluate yourself.
- Commit to small changes.
- Look at your “daytime” schedule before making dietary/cardio/lifting commitments.
- Decide what you want your end result to be.
These 4 things can be the foundation of a new lifestyle or they can be ignored and cause an endless cycle of fad diets and workout routines. Take the time to look into what is a healthy BMI for you. Take the time to decide what a small change is for you. Take the time evaluate whether your “daytime” hours are predominately behind a desk, standing up, or a mix of both before adjusting what you eat and how you eat. Determine what your end result will be. Using other people as motivation is great, but at the end of the day, you have to live with you. So what do YOU want?
